Broken Is My Smile

So lonely have I been

For a sad and long while

My heart mends

Broken is my smile

So lonely have I been

For a bleak and brutally barren while

My heart mends

Broken is my smile

So lonely have I been

For a hurting and hungry while

My heart mends

Broken is my smile

So lonely have I been

For a tough and traumatic while

My heart mends

Broken is my smile

So lonely have I been

For a lie infested trying while

My heart mends

Broken is my smile

So lonely have I been

For a hurting and unhappy while

My heart mends

Broken is my smile

So lonely have I been

For a treacherous and trying while

My heart mends

Broken is my smile

So lonely have I been

For a deafening whisper of a while

My heart mends

Broken is my smile

So lonely have I been

For a lost hope of an ill-spent while

My heart mends

Broken is my smile

So lonely have I been

For a brief eternity spent in exile

My heart mends

Broken is my smile

So lonely have I been

For a treasure of a once timeless while

My heart mends

Broken is my smile.

  1. I've just started following your wonderfully inspired blog. I first discovered your wisdom around noon today and have not stopped reading to this point. Although this was posted last year, may I say it does not surprise me you might feel lonely. You so clearly bring a divine presence into this world and to my mind that would mean it would be incredibly difficult for you to find someone who deserves that devine presence. Your loneliness, at least to my feeble mind, is a result of your divine gift. It's a bittersweet situation, which I at once envy and wish you didn't find yourself in.
